Established in 1937, the Huntington West Virginia Housing Authority (HWVHA) provides affordable, accessible, and quality housing and supportive services to residents of the City of Huntington and Cabell County, West Virginia. Governed by a five-member Board of Commissioners, which includes a resident commissioner, HWVHA administers 800 public housing units and 1,848 total vouchers in the area for eligible low, very low, and extremely low-income individuals, families, the elderly, and persons with disabilities. We proudly offer a wide range of housing programs designed to meet diverse needs, including Public Housing, Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) / Section 8 Program, Emergency Housing Voucher (EHV) Program, Family Unification Program (FUP), Moderate Rehabilitation (MOD Rehab) Program, Non-Elderly Disabled (NED) Vouchers, Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH), Project-Based Vouchers (PBV), and Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing (VASH).
